Learning the meaning on Sunday

Olde Timey Candy Store!

Olde Timey Candy Store!

My wife had to go to a baby shower yesterday so the boys and I did a little hanging out.  We went and poked around the Barnes & Noble for a while.  Didn’t really find anything but had fun looking.  There are always things to look at there and something you didn’t notice before.  Both of the boys are still flush with cash from the holidays and it’s good to see that they aren’t just throwing it at the first shiny thing they see.

We then decided to go meander at the mall for a bit, just walked through mostly.  We did come across a new (newish?) candy store called Lolli & Pops.  We decided to go in and get the boys something.  They moved from display to display, more and more excited as they went.

“A tube of bubble gum.”

“I love that taffy”

“What’s THAT!”

It was kind of fun to watch.  The excitement, the joy, the expectation, it was all very intense.

That’s when it hit me.  They were acting like kids in a candy store.

Hmmm, so that’s what that means.  I’ll have to keep that in mind the next time I hear that phrase.  It has new meaning now.

  1. What an awesome photo of an old time candy store. Where was this one do you know. Have you been to the PL?
